1. Business Development (2 positions)
For the non-CER/VER business of Arreon Carbon, we are currently looking for two talented Business Development executives.
1a. BD Manager ¨C Transactions
You will be responsible for sourcing technology and infrastructure investment targets, understanding our targets¡¯ business models, structuring possible investments (or other structured transactions) and negotiating the terms of such engagements. You will also interact with possible (co-)investors in China and abroad.
The successful candidate will have the following background and skills:
¡¤ 4-5 years commercial transaction structuring and execution experience in the
energy, carbon or general VC/PE sectors, with proven transaction record;
¡¤ Reasonable understanding of clean technology and projects;
¡¤ Proficient in both English and Chinese;
¡¤ MBA an advantage, but not a necessity;
¡¤ Self-starter, entrepreneurial;
¡¤ Able to work independently and hands-on without large support team.
Location Beijing; remuneration and benefits negotiable.
1b. BD Director ¨C Fund ¨C
You will be responsible for leading the set-up of Arreon¡¯s investment fund(s), from legal structuring to fund set-up, fundraising (in China and abroad), fund investment and investment performance monitoring.
The successful candidate will have the following background and skills:
¡¤ A proven record of fund raising preferably in emerging markets and specifically
in China; and experience in investment in the environmental, energy and
carbon spaces
¡¤ Reasonable understanding of clean technology, the energy sector and
projects;
¡¤ English and Chinese bilingual ability desirable, but not a must;
¡¤ Experience in Carbon finance an advantage, but not a necessity
¡¤ MBA an advantage, but not a necessity;
¡¤ Self-starter, entrepreneurial;
¡¤ Able to work independently without large support team.

2. Legal Counsel
We are seeking a senior lawyer who would like to be involved in all aspects of running a small but very active business including commercial structuring, contractual negotiations, compliance issues, fund formation and fundraising, etc. This is a great opportunity to become an all-rounder and shape the future of our company. The candidate is also expected to manage our 2-member legal team.
The successful candidate will have the following background and skills:
- At least 4-5 years experience as commercial/corporate lawyer in either a MNC or major law firm in China, with proven track-record in commercial structuring;
- Training in UK/HK law;
- Good understanding of the Chinese legal and regulatory system and the risks of doing business in China;
- Willingness to get involved in all aspects of a company¡¯s legal requirements;
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial;
- Able to work independently without large support team; willingness to coach commercial staff in the finer points of the law.
