Policy makers, investors, consumers, the media and other corporate stakeholders around the world are increasingly concerned about greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. They are putting greater pressure on industries to take environmental and climate change issues into account when offering products or services.
As a result, more companies and individuals wishing to distinguish themselves as a contributor to the fight against climate change are voluntarily offsetting their emissions with Verified Emission Reductions, or VERs. In 2007 alone, the market has grown more than 150%.
